Respect-Pride-Integrity Congratulations to these students for showing the Rocket Way!
Thank you Central Elementary for being great hosts to our middle school theater students today. Our Theater students prepared in class for their Semester One Story Time Performance. It was a great morning!
Rain or shine (or snow) our Muskegon school band is preparing to honor our veterans with a performance on Veterans Day!
Today RPMS welcomed the Conquerors Strength Team who shared an inspiring message on the impact of encouraging others. The Conquerors used multiple feats of strength to show the power of perseverance and encouragement. Imagine all we can accomplish with a willingness to encourage one another.
Congratulations to the R-PHS Marching Band. Several middle school students are also included in the high school marching band that took home a state championship this weekend at Ford Field in Detroit. We love seeing your medals worn with pride around the middle school. Under the direction of Mr. Sean Harris and Mr. Brian Olian, the R-PHS Marching Band continues a legacy of excellence. Marching band is a place where students learn discipline, hard work, team work, grit, pride, and respect in addition to music and performance skills. Congrats to all involved! Your hard work under the lights on the cement practice parking lot has paid off on the field
We had another awesome Friday recognizing RPMS students demonstrating THE ROCKET WAY! Next month one lucky student will earn a frozen yogurt party for their classroom, courtesy of Yodels. Keep it up Rockets!
Thank you Mr. Lowenberg for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. We heard your message that hate hurt and love heals loud and clear. To our RP community- you would have been so proud of the respect, pride, and integrity that was demonstrated by the 1,000+ students that were in attendance this morning. Thank you parents and staff for your flexibility in your morning routine to help make this happen. Opportunities to learn from a survivor are a gift.
Learning will take place as normal on Thursday. Costumes that meet the following are great:
-Face is not covered by the costume.
-No blood, gore, violence.
-The costume must still allow the student and other students to fully engage in learning.
-Costume must still meet dress code expectations for content and coverage.
We've included some throwback pictures of some of our 12th grade students in 8th grade.
Our students are going to go change the world and this group of 10 students is going to start by positively changing the middle school. Ten of our students have spent some of this week staying at Camp Miniwanca where they will brainstorm, develop, and bring a project back to the middle school to execute that will have a positive impact on our school. The students are from a leadership group that students can sign up for a called Rocket Reach Out. There are other students in the group as well that did not go to camp.
Today, Tom Coverly spoke to the students at RPMS. Tom shared a message about what is real versus illusion and about what it means to treat others with respect. Tom started his presentation with some pretty great illusions. Our students were an amazing audience and you would have been so proud. Part of his message was that real men and real women know how to look at another human being and treat them with respect even though there are differences. We all left inspired and challenged to honor our word. Thank you Tom for visiting RPMS.
Parents- please check your e-mail for information sent out today regarding an opportunity next Wednesday. WE WILL BE STARTING THE DAY AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.
Also, for our community on 10/29 at 6:30 in the evening, Reeths-Puffer Schools is proud to welcome Mr. Martin Lowenberg. We would love to see you there.
Mr. Lowenberg will be sharing his story of survival from Nazi tyranny during the Holocaust. Mr. Lowenberg survived the Kaiserwald, Riga, Libau, Hamburg, Fuhlsbuettel, Kiel, and Malmo concentration camps. Please come and share an evening of hope, resiliency, perseverance, grit, growth mindset and empathy.
You should have HEARD this MATH!!! Teaching students how to have math conversations is so important in helping them learn concepts at high levels. Our students are engaging in an activity called Info Gap. A growth mindset is definitely needed.

It’s always a great day to recognize students that are showing The Rocket Way! Way to show respect, pride, and integrity.
Look at how strong our students are! During Introduction to Cross Training class, students complete a routine in our weight room and track their growth data. RPMS is working hard and making gains.
Students are using a variety of line patterns and colors to create texture. It is amazing to watch our students grow as artists from the vision and design planning to the execution. Each project adds skills and tools they can use.
The polar vortex of 2019 got in our way last school year, but we are so happy to welcome Martin Lowenberg, a holocaust survivor, to the Rocket Center at RPHS at 6:30 on October 29th. We welcome the community to join us in an evening celebrating hope, resiliency, and empathy. Please mark your calendars to join us. Feel free to share the attached posters.

RISE UP was the theme of the RPMS Variety show and our students and community did not disappoint. Thank you to each performer for your vulnerability and willingness to put your talents on display. Thank you to our parents and Rocket City community for providing a safe and positive environment for our students where they can each RISE UP!
