Normally, we use our communication platforms to highlight students or provide information. Normally, we are intentional about not even including teacher names because it really is about the students, but tonight. after a week of distance learning, we want to give a shout out to the teachers. They have flipped everything they’re doing upside down and are working hard to SERVE the community. They are modeling growth mindset and vulnerability as everyone has become a first-year teacher. Nobody went into teaching with this vision of teaching in mind, but RPMS staff are modeling problem-solving, resiliency, and compassion. When students, families, and teachers all work together, we are seeing amazing things during a difficult time. Great job Rockets!
Disclaimer-teachers remove masks when alone in their classroom with the door shut and photos were zoomed in from a distance with a lightning quick visit.
We will be running live announcements on Friday. Since we don't have students in the building, we will have teachers representing 7th grade and 8th grade for our distanced competition (Magic Carpet). Tune in Friday at 8:45. We will also draw Rocket Slip winners and some special distance learner recognitions.

The ripple effect is a powerful thing.... Today, student council has asked you to reach out to someone and send them a note of appreciation. One of our students did jut that and then let us know. The act of kindness lifted the spirits of another student AND letting us know about it brightened our day...see how the ripples just keep going? We love our students and their kindness toward others. There is a lot of the day left for your act of kindness. Check out this great example of simple acts that go a long way.
Please check out the Kindness Challenge put together by our Student Council. We would love to see or hear about what you do.
November is typically a time of year when we focus on gratitude. With all of the chaos of 2020 and how much we cannot control, we can control our attitudes toward the chaos. We can still be kind. Let’s show our community and our family some Rocket Kindness over the next couple of weeks.
You can still check out library books and ebooks during remote learning!
Simply place a hold on your selections through the online card catalogue (see attached). Search for books by author, title, genre, or specific keywords (such as football or ghost).
When your order is available, you will receive an email with instructions for picking up your books at school.
What does integrity look like? It looks like 96.1% of Reeths-Puffer Middle School students showing up for the first day of distance-learning. Way to go Rockets! We knew you could do it. Connections happened… learning happened… and we will get better at teaching and learning in this new way every single day. Go Rockets! #integrity #therocketway #growthmindset
The RPMS student council is trying to keep our spirits up. Join them with a couple of spirit days for the first two days of our virtual learning. Rocket Virtual learners- we would love for you to join as well. Go Rockets!
Parents- we were just thrown another hurdle and our Internet is not working. It seems to be an issue beyond just our building and we are working to get it fixed quickly. If your conference got cut off, we will reach out as soon as we are able.
This picture right here says it all! In an ideal world, most of us would not choose to go to distance learning, but we can choose to be prepared. Some of our students have their phone alarms set and ready to go for learning tomorrow. Isn't this great thinking? Parents- an e-mail went out earlier today with our distance learning plan that will start tomorrow. Your students are ready...we've got this! A link to our distance learning plan is below:

With a new marking. Starting today, some of our students got to enjoy something new. Here are a few pictures from Art and the beautiful day outside in PE.
Our semester electives have ended and some students will be starting a new elective on Monday. There is really no better way to end the day than to watch middle school theater students award and celebrate each other. The teachers got to celebrate the end and provide some closure, but the recognition from one middle school student to another is magical.
Join us in celebrating our Rocket slip winners for the week! Our students are doing a great job of demonstrating respect, pride, and integrity. Live the “Rocket Way” every day.
This is a reminder that tomorrow is a half-day with dismissal at 10:55.
Check out another sneak peak of the Fall Variety Show.

Making claims, supporting with evidence, making predictions, communication, collaboration, data collection, and representing data visually are just some of the skills that go beyond the exact topic students are learning.
