Students in biology class are learning about the digestive system. Using only recyclables and garbage, students worked in groups to build a model of the digestive system.
Students in ELA took advantage of the nice weather by participating in book club meetings outside.
Band
This past Saturday they participated in the Rockford Invitational Competition.
They took 1st place in their class while also sweeping all Caption awards for their class winning Best Music Performance, Best Visual Performance, and Best General Effect Performance.
They also posted the 3rd highest score for the entire day out of all of the schools competing.

Volleyball
The 7th and 8th grade volleyball team spent the day competing at Grand Haven on Saturday. Leading servers for the 7th grade team were Grace Tindall, Eliana Farber, Nola Hower, Braylee Trepanier, and Kenzie Jacobs. Leading servers for the 8th grade were Carlee Bowen, Abyy Hill, and Emma Lamphere.
Our Rocket Recognition barrel is filling daily with tons of examples of students demonstrating The Rocket Way. Today students enjoyed snack packs, Rocket gear, and pizza with friends. It's always a great day to celebrate students demonstrating Respect, Pride, and Integrity.
Our first Huddle sessions of the year went off without a hitch! Huddles are designed to provide interactive lessons with information and discussion surrounding relevant topics for RPMS students. Current huddle topics are focused on using social media responsibly, student leadership, and a pledge to Ride With Pride.
The 7th grade earned their 3rd win of the season last night by beating Mona Shores 32-0. Connor Charnes led a strong offensive line allowing big plays by JC Tornes, Bryce Muskovin, Tre Foster, and Connor McManus.
Cross Country runners were back in action last night, the ladies took 3rd overall with some impressive finishes. Jersi Bilek, Gabrielle Chavez, Gracie Callendar, Darcy Keefe, Sophia McCollum, Hope Latsch, Mallorie Messer, Molly Matz, Kaitlyn Durow, Keeley Cole, Chelsea Deblock, Joslynn Wynsma, Ha'nna Alviar, Ava Turnage, and Julia Darling all set new personal records! The gentlemen took 4th place overall with new personal records for Jack Yonkman, Beckett Mathes, Kristian Brown, Dylan Sturr and Landon Fraizer. Way to go cross country!
A huge Congratulations and shout out goes to our Marching Band for representing Reeths-Puffer as well as the ENTIRE STATE of Michigan in Dayton, Ohio this past Saturday.
They competed against 18 groups from across 4 different states. These groups included bands that are consistent Grand National Semi-Finalists and a former National Champion.
They earned a 12th place finish at the Regional and an invitation to perform in The Finalist competition later that evening.
There are three 8th grade students in the marching band Eliana Talamantez, Kate Bullion, Parker Vanderwall, and Jackson Baldus.
This is a huge accomplishment. Congrats Band students. We are so proud of you.
The American Rescue Plan Act contains relief provisions for individual taxpayers, including some significant changes to the Child Tax Credit.
The Advance Child Tax Credit is not just available to taxpayers with children that file tax returns, but also to people with children who have low or no income.
To qualify for Advance Child Tax Credit payments, individuals must:
· Have a main home in the United States for more than half the year; and
· Have a qualifying child who is under age 18 at the end of 2021 and who has a valid Social Security number; and
· have earned income less than Modified Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of:
$75,000 or less for singles,
$112,500 or less for heads of household and
$150,000 or less for married couples filing a joint return and qualified widows and widowers

The 8th grade volleyball team won their match against Grand Haven last night 25-11, 18-25, 15-11. Service point leaders were Emma Lamphere, Ashley Bradley and Abegael Machinski. Leading passers were Jayla Trepanier, Abby Hill, and Carlee Bowen.

Rocket Cross Country ran the Northview Color Run and had a great time in the untimed race.

The 7th grade football team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 39-12 victory over Grand Haven. Leading a solid defensive effort were Brayen Sorensen and Braylen Swain. Offensively big runs were scored by JC Tornes, Bryce Muskovin, and Tre Foster. Connor McManus also had a great touchdown catch with Easton Roberts laying a huge block down the field. The Rockets will look to get another victory next week as they take on the Sailors of Mona Shores.
The 8th grade football team hosted Grand Haven last night and came up short 24-14. Scoring for the Rockets were Cal Millis and Owen Ritsema with rushing touchdowns. Owen Ritsema also added a PAT kick for the Rockets. Cal Millis recovered a fumble.
Today students in theater class focused on body movement and how to communicate through motion without using words.

8th grade volleyball played a hard fought match, but ended up losing to Holland Christian last night. Leading servers were Jayla Trepanier with 4 points/8 aces and Emma Lamphere with 2 aces. Leading passers were Abby Hill, Jayla Trepanier, and Danika Johnson. Great job ladies!!
RP cross country was back in action last night. Both boys and girls ran very well. The ladies beat Mona Shores but fell just short of beating Grand Haven. Setting new personal records were Jersi Bilek, Sophia McCollum, Hope Latsch, Mallorie Messer, Molly Matz, Avery Cooper, Julia Darling, Keeley Cole, Joslynn Wynsma, Landon Fraizer, Murry Kuipers and Jeffery Church. Way to go Rockets!
Staff at RPMS have been working hard to make sure classrooms are a welcoming and positive environment for kids. Reeths-Puffer Middle School is a GREAT place to be!
