Good Afternoon RPI Families,
I hope this email finds you well and enjoying this Michigan fall weather that we all love. As we prepare for the second marking period and head into November, I can’t help but think about how grateful I am for all of you. Our students and families are constantly rising to the occasion when it comes to academics and behavior. We were down nearly 200 discipline referrals from last year! Trust me, as a person who has worked with 5th through 8th graders for a number of years, that is saying something about them. Thank you for your continued focus on RESPECT. PRIDE. INTEGRITY! Well done Rockets! We are proud of you!
As we think about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, perhaps you and your family can not only have conversations around “The Rocket Way,” but could also seek an opportunity to show others they matter! Could you help a neighbor or family member pick up leaves, volunteer at different community events, intentionally call someone and thank them for the impact they have had on your lives, do something nice for a stranger?
Here are a few announcements for the week:
Parent Teacher Conferences: Please see communication from your students teacher team about specifics related to conferences. Girls on the Run will have a table at Conferences on Wednesday and Thursday. Additionally, our Parent Liaison, Chace Williard, will be available for families both nights.
Lost and Found: We have pulled together all items that have been lost/left around the building this year. There will be tables out during school and at conferences this week. Please check it over. Like when your kids were in elementary, it’s always a good idea to put their name on their personal items so they can be returned sooner!
LunchApp: Are you interested in seeing if your family qualifies for free/reduced lunch? Check out www.lunchapp.com to see if you qualify.
We are gearing up for our annual Thanksgiving Lunch! We will have a traditional Thanksgiving meal as the lunch option at RPE/I on Thursday, 11/14. On this day, this will be the only lunch option (with the daily salad bar and fruit options, as well as a la carte snacks). Here is the flier for that day!
