Good Afternoon RPI Families,
With October coming to us on Tuesday already, it's hard to believe that we have wrapped up our first month of school. Students did a great job of demonstrating “The Rocket Way!” and for that, I want to thank you! Over the past several weeks, I wrote to you about how you can reinforce this in your daily conversations with kids. It has really paid off. However, it is not time to hit cruise control. October and November are a time in the year where reminding students of expectations is KEY to our success. These are the months where we set the tone for the rest of the year. Academics will get harder, behaviors will be challenged, students will be tempted to test our limits. We need your help in reinforcing RESPECT. PRIDE. INTEGRITY. One of my favorite educational leaders puts out a weekly administrative challenge and at the end of every video his quote is this: “we are all in this together...” A very similar feel to the old adage that it takes a village. Here is a great way to reinforce this at home: RPI Poster.
A few announcements for this week:
Homecoming Spirit Week: It’s baaack! Here are the days this week. Please encourage your son/daughter(s) to participate. Here is the flyer we are posting around school.
Powerful Video on kids and technology: https://youtu.be/1XDVDyDJ3s0
School Newsletter: Here is the newsletter for this week. There are many valuable dates in the calendar section.
Special Note: Picture retakes/makeups are on Tuesday, October 1st.
AM Drop Off: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE pull forward. I got several calls this week regarding people holding up traffic in the morning. As I let you know last week, I feel it is very important for Mrs. Whitaker and me to be in the building with the students during this time. Please do your part in helping with this and exercising “The Rocket Way” for yourself when people who don’t pull forward.
We are all in this together! Have a great week, everyone! Go Rockets!
Mr. Panozzo
