The holiday season is officially here, and it wouldn’t be the same without the annual Reeths-Puffer Holiday Band Concert. On Wednesday, December 11th, the Reeths-Puffer Concert Band took the stage alongside the West Michigan Concert Winds, one of the nation’s top-rated community bands. This collaboration was a remarkable achievement for the students and created an unforgettable performance for the audience. The band spent months preparing to deliver a show the entire community could enjoy.
While many students were excited about different aspects of the show, Mylie Neel shared that she was most looking forward to performing with the Concert Winds. She noted that they are a great option for those looking to pursue further studies in the performing arts. Fellow student, Emma Dvorak, expressed that her favorite part of the show was “the diversity of the group. It’s incredible to collaborate with the West Michigan Concert Winds. It’s amazing to see so many different people come together to create such beautiful music.”
With numerous rehearsals both in and out of school, the students have put in a tremendous amount of effort and were fully prepared for their big night. Dvorak shared, "The band has been working hard, and we are all making great progress. We’ve learned a lot of new music, and we’re starting to sound good together." The dedication of the band is evident in their progress, as they’ve honed their skills and improved their performance over time. From early practices to the final rehearsals, each student has contributed to creating a cohesive and powerful sound that will shine on stage. Their hard work was sure to pay off, and the audience was given an outstanding show.
Overall, the Reeths-Puffer band was excited to host such an unforgettable event for the Rocket and Concert Winds communities. This concert celebrated music, bringing together talented performers who have worked tirelessly to deliver the stunning sounds of holiday cheer as the students take the stage, filling the air with festive music that left the audience in awe. As student Mya Moran shared, “my favorite part of the night was the jazz band and the ensembles.” It was a great show for everyone.
