The 7th grade Rockets tipped-off the 2022 basketball season with a home contest against the Jenison Wildcats. A very disciplined Jenison squad did an excellent job executing their offense in order to hang around all game; however, the Rockets had just enough in the tank to get a solid team victory. Hank Mitchelson led all scorers with thirteen points while JaMichael Williams tossed in six points and five rebounds. Javan Terpstra chipped in four points and seven rebounds which coupled well with Paul Smith’s three points and six boards. Rodney Walker, Cole Piper and Brayden Meeuwenberg also got in on the scoring action and were a huge help down the stretch. Artis Williams’s big bucket late proved to be a difference maker as well. The Rockets next square off on Wednesday against Muskegon.
