While many all-star invites are dedicated to individuals who have led the league, conference, etc., or exceeded expectations, the RPMS Cross Country program proved they could compete as all-stars at Mason County Central's West Michigan All-Star Invite hosted by Shelby State Bank.
On Thursday afternoon, the Rockets completed a 1-hour bus trip up north to Scottville Park. Having enough time to warm up and prepare their bodies to run after the long ride, the team filled with a handful of newcomers took a competitive trip through the trails of Scottville to secure a 1st Place trophy for the Boy's team.
Evan McCollum led all runners with a 1st place finish, with Jax Sieplinga placing 5th, and Gabe Luna placing 6th to add to the team total. Mia Hanichen and Harper Roberts led the girls with top 10 finishes, while Kaiden Yates earned a big personal record dropping 42.9 seconds off from her previous mark.
