R-P's Sage Secrest, who was 2-0 on Wednesday.

“We came out kind of flat in our opening dual and East capitalized on that,” said R-P Coach Jared Fleming. “They were ready and we weren’t. All the credit to them for coming out strong and taking it to us. I thought we came out firing against Coopersville and really wrestled well, and I’m proud of the resiliency in our guys on that end.

“In these tight duals it comes down to the littlest details, the small things add up and make the sport so inclusive to the whole team. Every wrestler in a dual plays a part in a win or a loss, from your best guy to the newbie, everyone contributes. It’s a beautiful thing, but awfully sour when you are on the losing end.”

The Rockets will return to the mats on Saturday with dual matches at Montague High School.
