A Reeths-Puffer golfer takes a shot

The Reeths-Puffer girls golf team was not happy with its performance at the fourth O-K Green Conference Jamboree on Wednesday at The Cranbrook Golf Course in Saugatuck, but the results could have been worse.

Paige Anderson shot a round of 40 and took second place in the event, three shots behind Zeeland West’s Rylee Smith.

As a team the Rockets were in the middle of the pack, finishing third out of five squads with a cumulative score of 229. Mona Shores finished first with a 187.

Ella Klimsza had the second-best outing for the Rockets with a score of 60, followed by Rowan Bluhm (61), Avery Luna (68), Ava Freed (71) and Abby Haak (75).

“All of my girls set reasonable, high goals for themselves today,” said R-P Coach Matt Pallett. “Unfortunately we were not able to reach our goals today. That’s part of life. The girls have all vowed to come back with better rounds next time out.”
