The Reeths-Puffer boys tennis team used Wednesday’s match against Wyoming to get some reserves into the lineup, and it worked out well with the Rockets posting a 7-1 victory in O-K Green conference action.
Winning singles matches for Reeths-Puffer were Trent VanDam (No. 2), who defeated Alex DeLarosa-Miranda 6-2, 6-0; and Theo Bergman (No. 3), who beat Paulixx Bentley 6-4, 6-1. Preston Singleton won by forfeit in the No. 4 singles match.
Three R-P doubles teams swept their opponents 6-0, 6-0 – Jake Vandenbosh and Zade Rogers (No. 1), Holden Earnest and Cory Judd (No. 2) and Jackson Baldus and Adam Schrumpf (No. 3).
The No. 4 doubles team of Adam Miller and Nate Rosema won by default.
“Trent Van Dam and our new German exchange student, Theo Bergman, played exceptionally well in their first singles matches of the year,” said R-P Coach Ryan Hankinson. “Our talented one doubles tandem of Jakob VandenBosch and Zade Rogers modeled efficient play that the young freshman and sophomore newcomers mimicked.”
