The challenge for all athletes, in any sport at any level, is to push themselves to get a little better each day.
Abby Haak, a member of the Reeths-Puffer girls golf team, has accepted that challenge this season and is starting to show progress.
On Wednesday Haak managed to get her first ever par on Hole 1 at Crestview Golf Club during the second O-K Green conference jamboree of the season.

“On the ride down, Abby let me know that she has never even had a par in golf,” said Reeths-Puffer golf coach Matt Pallett. “We talked about setting a personal goal to get one today and she did it. She almost did one better by missing a birdie putt on the par five. A tap-in for par and the biggest smile in the world said it all.”
The Rockets finished fourth in the five-team field with a score of 230.
R-P’s Paige Anderson shot a 46 and finished in fourth place individually. Ella Klimsza finished 14th with a 58, Haak shot a 61 and Avery Luna shot a 65.
“The game of golf is undefeated,” Pallett said. “Today was a day when the golf course won. The girls battled and tried their hardest. It was overall just a tough day in terms of scoring,”
