Liam Smith is starting to really heat up, which is not good news for Reeths-Puffer’s soccer opponents.
The standout junior netted five goals and had three assists on Tuesday to lead the Rockets to an easy 9-1 victory over Muskegon in their O-K Black conference opener.
The five goals left Smith with 12 on the season, with a lot of games remaining.
The victory was a nice rebound for the Rockets, who had a bad second half on Monday against a very good Forest Hills Northern squad and lost 5-1.
Owen Ritsema added two goals for R-P while Isaac Ritsema and Nick Clemens each had a goal and an assist.
JT Fansler and Conner Mammen each had one assist.

The Rockets outshot the Big Reds 12-2. Gage Hopkins and Gavin Wright split time in goal for R-P.
“It took a while for us to get going, but once we got one, the goals came in bunches,” said Reeths-Puffer coach Kody Harrell.
The Rockets, now 3-1-1 on the season, will return to action next Tuesday against Grand Rapids Union.
