Reeths-Puffer golfer Paige Anderson

Reeths-Puffer golfer Paige Anderson, in the words of her coach, “feels she is not firing on all cylinders.”

The other top golfers she’s competed against would probably be surprised to hear that.

Anderson continued her strong start to the 2022 season on Thursday, shooting an 83 and finishing seventh individually at the Forest Hills Central Pupel Invitational at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University.

Anderson earned another top 10 medal for her performance. She won the season-opening Mona Shores Invitational and has placed in the top 10 in three tournaments since then.

R-P's Abby Haak gets ready to shoot.

“Paige Anderson continues to impress,” said Reeths-Puffer golf coach Matt Pallett. “She has not quite put it all together in a round, though. Look out when she does.”

As a team Reeths-Puffer had a tough day, finishing seventh out of seven squads with a score of 477. Traverse City Central won the event with 363.

Ella Klimsza had the second highest score for the Rockets with a 119, Avery Luna shot a 120 and Abby Haak shot a 155.

The Rockets will next compete in an O-K Green conference jamboree next Wednesday at Crestview Golf Course.

“It was a tough day for the Rockets,” Pallett said. “Each girl has talked about things to work on. The team is looking forward to a practice to work on their deficiencies.”
