After being swept by a very strong Jenison squad on Monday, the Reeths-Puffer girls tennis team rebounded extremely well with a 7-1 non-conference victory over Muskegon Catholic Central on Tuesday.

R-P swept the four singles matches and took three of four in doubles play.

Olivia Smith in No. 1 singles, Hope Latsch in No. 2 singles, Molly Matz in No. 3 singles and Mylie Neel in No. 4 singles all earned wins in straight sets.

R-P's Mylie Neel, who won 12 of 13 games in her match.

Malania Eilers and Kaitlyn Darow (No. 1 doubles) Elana Weiden and Lauren Matz (No. 2 doubles) and Makayla Smith and Maddie Hutchinson (No. 4 doubles) also won in straight sets.

In No. 3 doubles, R-P’s tandem of Ava Dietz and Jayla Brink were competitive, losing both sets by a score of 6-4.

"I was very happy with how the team responded less than 24 hours after our toughest match of the season, against Jenison," said R-P head coach Ryan Hankinson. "We had a few subtle changes to the lineup which overall were beneficial and revealed some strategy elements that can be focused on as we squeeze two practices in this week between our busy competition slate."

The Rockets will compete in a multi-team event on Saturday at Ludington.
