The Reeths-Puffer boys track team fell to Mona Shores 84-52 on Tuesday, but several younger R-P athletes displayed some real potential.

Five R-P athletes took first place in their events, including junior Mason Darke, who won two events.

Darke won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.94 and the 300-meter hurdles with a mark of 40.96.

Other individual winners for Reeths-Puffer included junior London Rankin (100-meter dash), junior Marvin Moore (200-meter dash), and freshman Evan McHugh (pole vault).

The Rockets also took first place in the 4x200 relay (Rankin, Moore, Darke, Cole Piper) and the 4x800 relay (Matt Grimard, Dylan Sturr, Samuel Perez, Niilo Katajusto).

"Many first-year varsity track athletes scored valuable points with their performances," said R-P Coach Don Ketner. "That was fun to see and exciting for the future. Mason Darke had a great day with wins in 110 and 300 hurdles and another win in the 4x200 with London Rankin, Marvin Moore and Cole Piper.

"Marvin, London and Cole all had good days! Many personal bests were established and we are pumped up for our next meet at Rockford on Friday!"
