After gaining its first win of the season last Thursday, the very young Reeths-Puffer lacrosse team was given a reminder that it still has some work to do.
The Rockets fell to West Ottawa 15-3 on Saturday in a game that Coach Josh Rabidoux described as a "disappointing one."
"We definitely weren't playing to our potential," Robidoux said. "We had a lot of errors defensively with communication resulting in some easy goals for them early. In our transition we didn't take care of the ball, which resulted in a lot of turnovers. Offensively, we have a lot to work on in terms of finding our looks and being effective early."
The Panthers took control early with five unanswered goals in the first quarter.
Jack Bahorski, who scored R-P's first goal.
West Ottawa outscored the Rockets 3-1 in the second quarter and had an 8-1 lead at halftime. R-P's only goal of the first half was scored by Jack Bahorski, with an assist from Braeden Monette.
The Panthers had a 6-1 edge in the third quarter, with Owen Greiner scoring R-P's goal.
Cohen Beck found the net for the Rockets in the fourth quarter, then West Ottawa finished the scoring with one more goal.
The Rockets will host Holland Christian on Tuesday.
