The Reeths-Puffer baseball team got off to a great start on Thursday, pounding Muskegon Catholic Central 13-0 on the road in its 2025 season opener.
The Rockets didn't waste any time, putting eight runs on the board in the first inning. MCC helped the R-P cause by hitting five batters with pitches, allowing a batter to reach first on a dropped third strike, and surrendering a walk. Colton Bessinger delivered an RBI hit for the Rockets in the inning.
Brendan Guikema led Reeths-Puffer with three hits and a walk, Cade Paugh added two hits and Jack Yonkman and Paul Smith each contributed one hit.

Drew Brooks started on the mound and got the win for R-P, tossing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Brayden Mitchelson and Yonkman each pitched a scoreless inning for the Rockets.
R-P played error-free defense in the game.
The Rockets, now 1-0 on the season, will return to action on Monday when they host Oakridge in another non-conference game.
