The Reeths-Puffer lacrosse team stormed back from a two-goal deficit and tied the score against Northview late in the game on Friday night.
But Northview scored the final goal with four seconds left on the clock, handing the Rockets a heartbreaking 9-8 loss in their home opener on Friday night.
The Rockets, with a lot of first-year varsity players, fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in O-K Conference Tier 3 conference play. They were much more competitive than they were in their opening-game loss to Kenowa Hills on Wednesday.

Cohen Beck led R-P with three goals and two assists while Owen Greiner had two goals and one assist and Ian Wright added one goal and one assist.
Reeths-Puffer had the early advantage in the back-and-forth game with a goals by Beck and Greiner in the first quarter. Northville answered with two goals of its own, and the score was tied 2-2 headed into the second quarter.
R-P jumped ahead again in the second with goals by Wright and Hunter Adams, and added tallies from Braeden Monette and Beck and led 6-5 at halftime.

The Rocket offense went to sleep in the third quarter while Northville scored twice and took a 7-6 lead into the fourth.
Northville went up 8-6 early in the final quarter, then Greiner and Beck both scored in the final five minutes to tie things up at 8-8.
The visitors stole the win with the goal just four seconds before the clock expired.

The Rockets will return to action on Tuesday when they host another conference game against Grand Haven.
"That was a heartbreaker," said R-P head coach Josh Robidoux. "We still aren't where we need to be yet, but I have faith that these guys will start to gel here soon.
"We have to do a better job offensively taking care of the ball and watching our errant passes when trying to force things. Our man-up offense also needs to create and take advantage of those opportunities. Defensively, we are slow to react right now. Some of that will be fixed by time played with each other."
