Two Reeths-Puffer bowlers finished up the season by competing at the MHSAA Division 2 State Finals in Waterford on Saturday.
Lian Copenhaver finished 25th in a field of 56 bowlers. He rolled games of 196, 191, 187, 186, 176 and 210 for a final score of 1,146.
Carter Hekkema finished 34th with scores of 158, 151, 181, 214, 190 and 197 for a final score of 1,091.

"It was really a great season for Liam and Carter, and for Reeths-Puffer bowling as a whole," said R-P Coach Craig Alderink. "Liam and Carter both bowled well at the state tournament against some very tough competition. Five of the boys earned individual tournament medals this season, they won the GMAA championship, finished second in a strong O-K Green Conference, and had several other notable tournament finishes and some previously unseen very high scores.
"All of the other four members of the varsity team and their moms made the drive to Waterford and attended the state tournament on Saturday. It was great to see the support for Liam and Carter, and really showed how much of a team this group really is."

The future looks bright for the R-P boys team, with five varsity bowlers - Copenhaver, Hekkema, Tanner Bahr, Ryleigh Beebe and Karsen Boeskool - expected to return.
"They experienced tremendous growth this year, and I expect great things out of them again next year," Alderink said.
