The Reeths-Puffer girls basketball team fell 51-27 at Caledonia on Friday night in an O-K Green Conference contest.

The Rockets were down 6-5 after one quarter before being outscored 17-6 in the second quarter and trailing 23-11 at halftime.

Raquel Walker led the Rockets with six first half points.

In the third quarter, Caledonia outscored Reeths-Puffer 14-8 to extend the Rocket deficit to 37-19.

“In the first half Caledonia’s strong rebounding and second chance shots put us at a disadvantage,” said Reeths-Puffer head coach Rodney Walker. “It made it difficult to establish our rhythm. But in the second half we made critical adjustments managing the defensive pressure, which allowed us to settle down and make shots."

Walker led the Rockets with eight points on the night.

The Rockets are now 5-10 overall on the season and 3-3 in O-K Green Conference play. They’ll next travel to Holland West Ottawa for a non-conference game on Feb. 4.
