The Reeths-Puffer boys basketball team used a big fourth quarter to pick up an exciting 49-45 road victory at Caledonia on Friday night.

The victory was the second in a row for the Rockets, who improved to 5-10 overall and 3-3 in O-K Green conference play.

The Rockets led 11-9 after one quarter but trailed 19-16 at halftime after scoring just five points in the second quarter.

Brayden Mitchelson led R-P with five first quarter points while Marvin Moore had three in the second.

Reeths-Puffer outscored Caledonia 15-9 in the third quarter to lead 31-28 headed to the fourth.

Mitchelson pumped in 10 of the Rockets' 15 points in the third quarter.

Mitchelson stayed hot in the fourth, scoring seven more points while Moore added five, helping R-P outscore the Fighting Scots 18-17 and pull out the victory.

Kristian Brown also played a big role, scoring five points in the fourth quarter.

Mitchelson led the Rockets with 22 points and six rebounds on the night while Brown finished with 12 points and Moore with 10.

Elliot Schneider snagged five rebounds for Reeths-Puffer..

“This was a great team win,” said R-P head coach JR Wallace. “Kristian Brown made some big shots and Elliot Schneider grabbed key rebounds. Everyone played with good energy, effort and focus down the stretch.”

The Rockets will travel to Kalamazoo Loy Norrix on Saturday to face Niles.
