The Reeths-Puffer girls bowling team suffered it first conference loss of the season on Monday, 20-10 to Caledonia.

The Rockets got off to a good start, winning the second of the two baker rounds, as well as the two baker bonus points, to grab a 6-4 lead.

But R-P struggled in the regular games, losing the first by a very tight 702-701 score, as well as the second 769-658. They also lost the two regular game bonus points for overall pins.

The Rockets won four of the 10 individual matchups in the regular games, which are worth one point apiece.

Ella Mattson and Hailey Johnsen both had victories in the first regular game, with Mattson rolling a high score of 202.

Mattson and Johnsen also won in the second game, with Johnsen rolling a high score of 173.

"Our struggle continues to be the same - we can't seem to be consistent as a team," said R-P head coach Karla Buchan. "When one is struggling, the others are seeing success and vice versa."

R-P, now 6-2 overall and 6-1 in the O-K Green conference standings, will play Mona Shores on Wednesday.
