The game started out pretty good for the Reeths-Puffer boys basketball team on Saturday, with the Rockets playing Grandville even for one quarter, and only trailing by five at halftime.
But the Bulldogs produced a little more offense in the second half and beat Reeths-Puffer 49-39 in a non-conference makeup game.
The Rockets fell to 3-10 on the season. Grandville broke a six-game losing streak and improved to 5-10.
The two teams played to a 9-9 tie after one quarter.
Marvin Moore, who led the Rockets with 14 points.
Grandville had a 14-9 edge in the second quarter and led 23-18 at halftime.
The Bulldogs put the game away in the second half, outscoring the Rockets 13-11 in the third quarter and 13-10 in the fourth.
Marvin Moore led Reeths-Puffer with 14 points. Brayden Mitchelson had 11 points and seven rebounds.
Elliot Schneider added eight points, six rebounds and two assists for the Rockets.
R-P will host Muskegon Heights in another non-conference game on Monday.
