Four Reeths-Puffer wrestlers posted perfect records on Saturday, helping the Rockets pile up four more dual match victories, this time at the Rich Champion Invitational at Whitehall High School.
R-P rolled to a win over Newaygo 83-0, then pulled out tight victories over Allendale 37-29, Hudsonville 35-33 and Tri-County 41-36.
The win over Hudsonville was particularly encouraging, since the Rockets lost to the Eagles by 18 points earlier this season.
R-P now has an outstanding 20-5 dual record this season.
Posting victories in all four matches for the Rockets were Max Knowlton (106 pounds), Ian Cook (144), Hunter Eek (150) and Sage Secrest (215/285).
R-P's Hunter Eek, who posted a perfect 4-0 record.
Eek defeated a state-ranked Tri-County wrestler, 10-7.
Posting 3-1 records for R-P were Travis Henderson (113), Bryce Muskovin (157), Aiden Neal (175) and Devin Welch (215/285).
Winning two matches were Tanner Cowles (132/138), Lyric Stewart (165/175) and Andrew Corradin (190).
"The team had a good performance," said R-P head coach Brad Cowles. "There were a handful of tough matches throughout the day, one coming from Hudsonville. The last time we were defeated 41-23, so to come out on top with a victory was a great feeling for the boys."
The Rockets will return to the mats on Monday with a conference match at Jenison.
