The Reeths-Puffer boys bowling team suffered its first conference loss of the season on Wednesday, 27-3 to Jenison.
The Rockets started the day out rough by losing both baker rounds, 201-176 and 212-150.
They also dropped both regular games to the high-performing Jenison squad, 1,001-877 and 981-728.
R-Pi is now 3-1 in the O-K Green conference standings.
R-P collected its points with individual victories by Carter Hekkema, Liam Copenhaver and Peyton Estepp.
R-P's Carter Hekkema, who bowled a team-high 209 game.
Hekkema bowled a team-high 209 in Game 1.
Despite the score, R-P Coach Craig Alderink said his team actually bowled pretty well.
"The final score of 27-3 doesn't do a great job of showing how the team actually bowled," he said. "A 176 baker game and an 877 regular game are very solid scores. Jenison just outbowled us and gave us a higher target to aim for.
"This match also gave us the opportunity to give some playing time to some of the younger bowlers in the second game and they all did fairly well. I really think this team is trending in the right direction, even after today's loss."
The Rockets will compete in the Zeeland Baker Invitational on Saturday.
