The Reeths-Puffer hockey team is on a hot streak again, and part of the reason is that Hayden Taylor is on one heck of a scoring streak.

The R-P sophomore has now scored eight goals in the last three games, including three more on Wednesday in the Rockets' 7-3 victory over Jenison at Trinity Health Arena.

It was the second straight game that Taylor posted a hat trick.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Reeths-Puffer, which improved to 10-4-1 on the season.

Taylor scored all three of his goals in the first period against Jenison. Tyler Tindall added another and R-P had a commanding 4-0 lead headed into the second period.

R-P's Hayden Taylor, who has eight goals in the past three games.

R-P's Jordan Benkert scored the only goal of the second period and the Rockets led 5-1 at the break.

The Rockets and Wildcats each scored two goals in the third period, with Connor Anderson and Ayden Hartzell each finding the net for R-P.

Anderson and Hartzell each had two assists in the game while Eli Cuti, Bucky Aney and Trenton Hanks each added one.

Huck VanDyke was the winning goalie.

"The games are a lot less stressful when we get hot starts like we've had the past two!" said R-P head coach Dustin Langlois. "A couple of new guys scoring some goals, and Hayden Taylor finding his game and putting up eight goals in three games helps a lot.

"I'm very happy for this group we have. We have some bumps and bruises, so it's exciting to see other guys step up and handle business for us."

Reeths-Puffer will have back-to-back games this weekend, on the road on Friday against Hudsonville and at home on Saturday against St. Clair Shores.
