The Reeths-Puffer girls bowling team came very close to winning a first-place trophy on Friday, finishing in second place at the Cardinal Invitational at Northway Lanes, hosted by Orchard View.
The Rockets were second in the baker and regular rounds with a pin total of 2,313.
Hailey Johnsen had R-P's high score in the first two regular games with scores of 161 and 166, respectively. Kaila Uhlig had the high score in Game 3 with a 155.
Johnsen finished ninth in the individual bowler standings with a three-game series of 465.

Rowan Bluhm bowled a 446 series for R-P while Brook Buchan came in at 406, Uhlig finished with a 364 and Ella Mattson rolled a 354.
The Rockets qualified for the tournament playoffs and beat Holton 304-206 and Cedar Springs 308-280 in the first two rounds. They finally lost to Sparta 318-292 in the championship round.
