The Reeths-Puffer girls bowling team demonstrated that it may very well be a contender for a conference title this season, finishing in second place on Friday at the O-K Green Preseason Tournament at Spectrum Lanes.
The Rockets finished the day with a pin total of 2,284. Caledonia took first place.
Rowan Bluhm led the Rockets in both Game 1 and Game 2, with scores of 194 and 158, respectively.

R-P’s Ella Mattson had the high score in Game 3 with a 119.
“The girls did the best they could at a location where many of our R-P bowlers have tended to struggle,” said R-P Coach Karla Buchan. “We need to figure out how to overcome that, since we will be bowling at Spectrum two more times this season.
“I am extremely proud of how they worked as a team to make suggestions, to help each other, and most importantly, to have fun together.”
The Rockets will host Hudsonville at Northway Lanes on Wednesday.
