The Reeths-Puffer boys soccer team is scoring again, and the losing streak is over.
The Rockets broke a frustrating four-game skid with an impressive 7-1 victory over Grandville on Saturday in a non-conference game at R-P’s Eric Marcil Field.
Reeths-Puffer, which had only one goal during the four-game losing streak, pounded the Bulldogs with 18 shots on goal.
The Rockets led 3-0 at halftime, then iced the victory with four more goals in the second half.
Trent Hanks, who had two goals for Reeths-Puffer
Trent Hanks led the Rockets with two goals. Collecting single tallies were Nick Clemens, London Carpenter, Blake Kiel, Gavin Wright and Kaleb Fowler.
Clemens and Fowler each had an assist, as well. Liam Copenhaver got the win in goal, stopping four of five shots.
Reeths-Puffer improved to 7-6-1 on the season.
The Rockets will host rival Mona Shores on Tuesday in the annual Causeway Cup game.
