Six Reeths-Puffer tennis players posted 2-1 records and won runner-up medals at Saturday’s Grand Rapids Northview Invitational.
All four R-P singles players were on the medal list.
Ethan Frang (No. 1 singles), Quinn Alderink (No. 2 singles) and Adam Miller (No. 4 singles) all won two matches in straight sets.
Cory Judd (No. 3 singles) also went 2-1 but had to work a little harder in one of his victories, rallying to beat Grand Rapids Northview’s Logan Will 6-7, 6-2, 10-5.

Reeths-Puffer’s No. 1 doubles team of Holden Earnest and Trent VanDam also went 2-1 and received runner-up medals after sweeping to a pair of straight set victories.
All the second-place finishes helped the Rockets take second place as a team with 12 points in the tournament standings. Powerful Mattawan, which handed R-P a loss in every flight, won the event with 24 points. Northview finished third with 10 points and Grand Rapids Catholic Central had five.
“It was a great tournament day and should serve as good inspiration as we head into the most challenging week on our schedule, between now and next Monday,” said R-P Coach Ryan Hankinson.
