The Reeths-Puffer girls golf team showed that it can rebound from a bad day, and senior Rowan Bluhm led the comeback.
Two days after posting their worst team score of the season, the Rockets posted their best score of the year – 368 – and finished in third place at Thursday’s O-K Green conference Midseason Tournament at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University.
Bluhm had the best day of her varsity career with an 18-hole score of 78. She finished second in the individual standings, nine strokes behind Caledonia’s Colelin O’Krangley, who shot a 69.
Bluhm had an eagle score of 3 on the par-5 first hole. She had back-to-back birdies on holes 16 and 17. She was inches from a hole-in-one on the 17th.

Also having a great day was sophomore Sophia McCollum, who shot an 89 and finished eighth overall.
Both Bluhm and McCollum earned “All Tournament” medals.
“I couldn’t be more proud of Rowan Bluhm,” said R-P Coach Matt Pallett. “She has had a personal goal of shooting a round in the 70’s and today was her day. She is an extremely hard worker. She is an amazing person and leader for this team.”
Olivia Ambler shot a 95 for R-P, highlighted by a long birdie putt on the ninth hole. Ella Voorhies shot a 106 and Emma Dvorak shot a 140.
“As a team we took a step back the other day with our worst score of the year,” Pallett said. “The team took a big step forward today.
“I am very proud of the team today. Several of the girls have recently struggled with their swings. Today they battled through it and figured some things out.”
