The Reeths-Puffer girls tennis team wrapped up a very strong season with a fourth-place finish at the Division 2 regional tournament at Forest Hills Northern on Friday.
It was the best regional finish in the history of the R-P girls program. The Rockets were only four points shy of qualifying as a team for the state finals.
Forest Hills Northern won the regional title with 29 points. Forest Hills Central was second with 27, Mona Shores was third with 15 and R-P was fourth with 14.

All eight Reeths-Puffer flights won their first matches, lost their second and finished with 1-1 records on the day.
They were Brooke Titus (No. 1 singles), Olivia Harris (No. 2 singles), Molly Matz (No. 3 singles) and Mylie Neel (No. 4 singles), Hope Latsch and Olivia Smith (No. 1 doubles), Lauren Matz and Emma Fraser (No. 2 doubles), Gabrielle Borgeson and Malania Eilers (No. 3 doubles) and Ava Dietz and Laura Tejedor (No. 4 singles).
“The best R-P result ever with 14 points again showed our team depth and balance,” said Reeths-Puffer Coach Ryan Hankinson, whose team won its first-ever Greater Muskegon Athletic Association city championship this year. “We have never surpassed nine (team points), to my knowledge.”
