Exciting things keep happening for the Reeths-Puffer softball team, with some big challenges just around the corner.
The Rockets went on the road and swept Zeeland East on Tuesday, 5-2 and 11-4 in O-K Green conference play.
The victories improved the Rockets’ record to 28-2-1 overall, which leaves them one win away from tying the team record for the most in school history.
R-P improved to a perfect 12-0 in conference play, the same record as Zeeland West. The two teams will meet up in a doubleheader on Monday at Reeths-Puffer, with the O-K Green championship on the line.

R-P’s Kaylee Jones stole two bases in the doubleheader and set a new school record for the most in a season with 38. The previous record was 36, set by Bri Fogle in 2009.
Zeeland East jumped out to a 2-0 lead in Tuesday’s first game before the Rockets rallied with one run in the second inning, three in the third and one in the fifth.
Reeths-Puffer did its damage with only seven hits. Mady Snyder had a single and a triple while Lainey McDaniel added a triple.
Snyder pitched the win, striking out five with only two walks in five innings. McDaniel closed out the game on the mound.

In Game 2, Zeeland West grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first inning, then the Rockets answered with four in their half of the first, one in the second, two in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the sixth to secure the easy win.
McDaniel had three hits, including two doubles, and knocked in four runs. Jones had three singles, Megan Barmes hit a single and a double and Snyder had two singles.
Kyleigh Bilek pitched the first four innings with one walk and three strikeouts. McDaniel again closed out the game on the mound, tossing three innings with no walks and seven strikeouts.
