The Reeths-Puffer boys and girls track teams brought home some medals on Friday at the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association City Meet at Montague High School.

The Rocket boys took third place out of 13 teams in the final standings. They finished with 56 points, behind first-place Whitehall (143) and Mona Shores (76).

Senior Tate Bradley had a very good outing for the Rockets, finishing first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:02.34. Bradley also finished second in the 1,600-meter run.

Senior Caden Bolduc took third place in the 200-meter run. He became the second fastest 200-meter performer in R-P history, behind Nate McCrary, with a time of 22.20.

Sophomore Mason Darke finished third in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles and took fifth in the long jump.

The Rocket boys had success in several relay events, as well.

4 x 100 relay champions Amani Starr, Melana Johnson, Madilynn Smith, Brooklynn Tornes.

The 4 x 400 team of Marvin Moore, Jezsiah Sims, Darke and Bolduc took first place with a time of 3:29.94. The 4 x 200 team of London Rankin, Moore, Bryce Muskovin and Bolduc finished in second place.

The Reeths-Puffer girls also had a strong city meet, finishing fifth out of 12 teams with 53 points. Mona Shores won the event with 109 points.

The R-P girls’ highlight of the day came from the 4 x 100 relay team of Amani Starr, Melana Johnson, Madilynn Smith and Brooklynn Tornes, which finished in first place with a time of 1:53.63.

Finishing second for the Rockets were Tornes in the 100-meter dash, Jersi Bilek in the 800-meter run and Gabrielle Chevez in the 3,200-meter run.

R-P’s Isabella Smith took third place in the pole vault. The 4 x 800 relay team of Bilek, Chevez, Adrienne Fluette and Sophia McCollum also took third.

In fourth place was the 4 x 200 relay team of Johnson, Savannah Lockwood, Ma’Kaia Riley-McGuffey and Tornes.

Freshman Sophia McCollum took fifth place in the 1,600-meter run and Smith was sixth in the 300-meter hurdles.
