The Reeths-Puffer hockey team just had to be a little patient on Friday night.
The Rockets had a 16-1 shot advantage in the first period on Friday night, but there was no scoring. The goals started coming in the second period, however, and R-P was able to cruise to a 5-2 road victory over East Kentwood in an O-K Conference Fischer Division contest.
R-P’s Croix Klint warmed up the scoreboard when he got a puck past the EK goalie on a power just 1:38 into the second period. Jaxon Stone added another power play goal about three minutes later to put the Rockets up 2-0.
East Kentwood scored two minutes later, then the Rockets went up 3-1 on a goal by Avery Freeland.

The hosts added another goal before the end of the period, and R-P went into the third with a 3-2 lead.
The Rockets sealed up the victory with goals by Freeland and Avery Wolfe-Sabo in the third period.
Stone and Connor Anderson each had two assists for R-P while Klint, Tyler Tindall, Kaeden Benner and Hayden Taylor each had one.
Mark Stewart got the win in goal for Reeths-Puffer.
The Rockets, 11-7 overall, improved to 6-1 in the Fischer Division standings and kept pace with first-place Sparta.
