A big game from senior Brookyn Tornes was not enough to secure a victory for the Reeths-Puffer girls basketball team on Tuesday night.
Tornes scored 22 points, with three triples, but the rest of the R-P offense was quiet in a 42-38 loss to Spring Lake in non-conference action.
The Rockets started off slowly and trailed 14-7 after one quarter and 23-14 at halftime.

Reeths-Puffer had a 14-10 edge in the third quarter and trailed 33-28 headed into the fourth, but Spring Lake had a 9-7 advantage down the stretch and pulled out the victory.
Irelyn Niklasch scored six points for Reeths-Puffer while Megan Barmes had four.
Alexa Carter and Ella Andree scored 10 points apiece to lead the Lakers.
The Rockets, now 0-2 on the season, will visit Holland West Ottawa on Friday.
