The Reeths-Puffer boys cross country team could end the season with quite a bit of success, based on its recent performances.

Last Saturday the Rockets had their best day in several years, winning the team championship at the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association City Meet.

They followed that up on Wednesday with another great finish, placing second at the O-K Green Conference Championship Meet.

Reeths-Puffer finished with 60 points, one spot behind Zeeland West, which took first place with a 36.

Three Rockets placed in the top 10 individually.

R-P''s Jaxon Allen, Tate Bradley and Kye Grant, who all earned All-Conference honors.

Senior Jaxon Allen took second place with a time of 16:33. He only finished behind Holland’s Noah Lamber, who won the race with a great 15:59 mark.

R-P junior Kye Grant was third with a 17:04 time and seniorTate Bradley was sixth with a 17:12 finish.

Rounding out the scorers for R-P were sophomore Jack Yonkman (18:34), who finished 17th, and junior Jamie Neel (19:49), who finished 32nd.

“I think the guys ran well,” said R-P Coach Darin Grant. “They showed up again with solid race plans and a competitive desire, which led to good results.”

The Rockets will try to quality for the state finals as a team and individuals when they compete in regionals a week from Saturday.
