The Reeths-Puffer volleyball team’s four-match conference winning streak came to an end on Thursday in a 3-0 loss on the road to Zeeland East.
The Rockets lost by scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-13.
The Rockets struggled to handle Zeeland East’s fast paced offense, particularly with any type of effective blocking, according to R-P Coach Justin Birr.
”We cannot replicate that speed in practice, so it is hard for us to defend against a team with that speed,” Birr said.
R-P's Mady Snyder
Alissa Klopp and Mady Snyder led R-P’s offense with six and five kills, respectively. Maddy Dyer had 13 assists.
Defensively, Megan Barmes led Reeths-Puffer with nine digs.
Birr credited Snyder for having some big points and limiting her mistakes, and Grace Darke for strong play in the back row.
The Rockets are now 6-16-1 overall and 4-2 in O-K Green conference play. They will host Zeeland West on Tuesday in another conference match.
