The Reeths-Puffer tennis team had a rough time against O-K Green conference rival Zeeland East on Monday, falling 6-2.
The Rockets were not able to put up much of a fight in six of the eight flights, winning no sets and only eight games.
But there were two bright spots for R-P, at No.4 singles and No. 1 doubles.
The Rockets’ Cade Paugh was pretty dominant in the singles match, downing ZE’s Dominik Rieder 6-2, 6-1.
R-P's Cade Paugh
Paugh has not been beaten since switching from doubles to singles earlier this season.
R-P’s top doubles team of Holden Earnest and Ethan Frang put on a really good show, battling from behind to beat ZE’s Jailen Nesbitt and Levi Barense.
Earnest and Frang lost the first set 5-7, but won the second 6-3 and the third 6-2 to capture the victory.
“Our one doubles team finally clicked and found a way to overcome a first set loss,” said R-P Coach Ryan Hankinson.
