Reeths-Puffer sophomore cross country runner Jersi Bilek just keeps getting better.
Bilek, a standout since she joined the varsity last season, broke the 20-minute barrier for the first time in her career on Saturday, posting a time of 19:17 and taking fifth place at the Cougar Falcon Invitational hosted by Grand Rapids South Christian.

She won a medal for her top-five performance.
R-P's Adrienne Fluette finished 17th overall and also won a medal with a new personal best time of 20:50.
Charli Belinger finished 52nd and set a new personal record of 25:15, Hope Latsch was 53rd and set a personal record of 25:23 and Maya VandenBosch was 54th with a personal record of 27:12.

The event had a separate freshman race, so several Reeths-Puffer ninth-graders who usually race and do well in varsity could not compete in the main event.
“All the Rockets that raced on Saturday ran their fastest times this season,” said R-P Coach Lindsay Keefe. “It was a great learning experience, racing the same course that we ran in August and seeing our growth so far.”
