Kristian Brown is getting used to the pressure of varsity golf, and responding to that pressure in a big way.
The Reeths-Puffer freshman, who has been one of the Rockets’ top golfers all season, had another good day on Wednesday, shooting a 40 that put him in a tie for fifth place individually at an O-K Green conference meet at Crestview Golf course.
The highlight of Brown’s day was an 80-foot birdie putt on Hole 9 in front of a crowd of people.

“Kristian Brown continues to play well,” said R-P Coach Matt Pallett. “He really battles out there. He looks like he is having a lot of fun. He was all smiles about his birdie putt.”
The Reeths-Puffer team shot well as a group with a score of 178. That was good for a fourth place tie, only four shots out of second place.
Dylan Panozzo shot a 43 for the Rockets, followed by Mason Cregg (46), Tanner Bonjernoor (49), David Grimard (54) and Jacob Pierce (55).
“I am very proud of Dylan Panozzo,” Pallett said. “He has mentioned that a weakness of his is his mental game. Dylan had a tough hole that could have derailed his round, but he showed a lot of mental toughness to rebound and end his round with four straight pars.”
