The Reeths-Puffer baseball team is being challenged with some adversity for the first time this season.

After starting off with 10 straight wins, the Rockets have now dropped three games in a row following two losses to Wyoming on Tuesday.

The Rockets lost a tight one, 5-4, in extra innings in Game 1. Wyoming’s Seth Moore singled home the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning.

R-P jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Trent Reichert.

R-P's Kyle Schlaff, who had four hits in the doubleheader. 

Wyoming scored four runs in the fourth inning, then the Rockets forced extra innings with three runs in the seventh.

Kyle Schlaff led R-P with a double and two singles and Chase Smith had two hits. Pitcher Jaxson Whitaker scattered five hits with seven strikeouts in six innings.

The Rockets lost the nightcap by a score of 8-3. Wyoming took control by scoring four runs in both the third and fourth innings.

R-P scored three runs in the fifth inning, but then the game was called due to darkness.

Schlaff, Reichert, Quinn Alderink and Jack Yonkman had hits for Reeths-Puffer.

The Rockets will host a single game against Wyoming on Thursday before playing Fruitport under the lights at Marsh Field on Friday night.
