The Reeths-Puffer lacrosse team had a rough night on Tuesday, falling 18-3 to a very good Spring Lake squad in non-conference action.
Connor Stawski had two goals for the Rockets while Kyle Huff added one.
R-P Coach Jake Kovalcik also credited Ian Wright and Avery Wolfe-Sabo for playing strong games, but overall the team’s performance was not nearly enough to keep up with the Lakers.
“We knew from the start that Spring Lake was a good team, but we knew that we could compete,” Kovalcik said. “Unfortunately we played a hard six minutes and went flat.
“We still have a lot to learn on both ends of the field and we need to figure out how to turn those six minutes into a full game. Once we can do that I believe we can be a very dangerous team.”
The Rockets, now 2-2 on the season, will hit the road to play Zeeland West on Thursday.
