Parent Communication 9/1/19

Good Evening RPI Families,

As we are all nervously and excitedly preparing for the first day of school, I wanted to send you a few reminders for the week.  It is our hope that this week provides your son/daughter(s) with a renewed sense of why school is so important -- relationships. Relationships with peers, teachers, bus drivers, lunchroom staff, etc. We have all, most likely, had a teacher or school employee that has had a profound impact on our lives. I know I have.  I fondly remember my elementary bus driver, Miss Sue. She always greeted us in the morning with a big smile and a “Good Morning Sweetie!” While I will spare you with how long ago that was, it speaks to the importance of relationships with everyone we encounter. Our school community is a special place, with special people.  As you send your kids off to school on Tuesday, remind them that one small kind gesture (either to them or from them) can have a ripple effect on their day, week, month, school-year or in my example...life! Because of Miss Sue’s impact, I do my very best to greet each student and staff member alike with a big smile and a Good Morning energy every day!

A few announcements:

  • Reminder that doors open at 7:20 and school starts at 7:45 (ending at 2:43).

  • Drop Off Lot --

    • Remember to pull as far forward as possible.  Lines back up into the road.

    • Please drop students off on CURBSIDE.  Please DO NOT drop students off away from the curb...it can be very unsafe and we want to avoid any injury!

    • Exercise patience - Your kids see what you are doing and saying! How can you show and model Respect. Pride. Integrity...The Rocket Way?

  • Cell Phones: Not allowed out and in use after 7:35 (that’s when kids are released from breakfast and the gym!)

  • Donuts with the principals - As promised, Mrs. Whitaker and I will be hosting our first donuts with the principals on Friday, September 27 at 8:00am.  No RSVP needed, just show up (front office area) with your ideas to help #RPIShine!

Have a great week!

Mr. Panozzo
